Nikon D300

It was expected, after the arrival of the Nikon D300s, the older D300 is being removed from Nikon web sites one after the other. You have to admit that the Nikon D300s is a better D300 than the D300…

According to the official Best Buy twitter feed, the Nikon D300 is now being delisted from the catalog of this line of photo shops, in preparation of the arrival of the Nikon D300s which should replace it.

The Nikon D300 is superb SLR photo camera. But you were looking for its user manual in a downloadable electronic format? That is exactly why I found the D300 User Manual (PDF document) available for download.

I am so uncertain about this rumour that I will not even copy the details here. Nikon Rumor is telling us that there will be an upgrade to the Nikon D300 under the name of Nikon D300s. Honestly, how would Nikon add HD video to an existing design? That would be the smallest increment to a really excellent design, but I doubt they would be doing so small a redesign, even under the current recession times.

We loved you so much… but from everywhere in the world comes the rumour that the Nikon D300 is disappearing. Nikon must have been stopping all manufacturing. If you still want one, I may suggest that you urgently visit your prefered reseller in order to see if they still have it in stock.

Some rumours are less reliable than others. Here, this is the announcement of a Nikon D500 by Stock-Photo.blogspot.com. No identified source, but the mere reference to a marketing move to solve issues found in the video of the Nikon D90.

Neverhteless, it would be a real successor to the Nikon D300 to be expected in the 1st quarter of 2009.
