At DxO Labs, there is one hell of a director of special effects. One after the other, there are news exploding in front of observers. First, there was a Sony Alpha 55 marginally better than the other cameras, then a Pentax K-5 which jumped ahead everybody else with 82 points. Here comes the Nikon D7000 with a nearly equally impressive ranking (80 points).
It takes the second rank among the APS-C digital sensors for DSLR photo cameras. But its price is 300-400€ below a Pentax K-5. Nice price-performance ratio.
Just a reminder: Above 80, the DxOMark sensor rankings are normally attributed only to very high-end cameras most of them using a Full Frame sensor…
