Lightroom v3 beta 2 is now available for all to use/test. This is still a beta version, so you should remember that it comes with no warranty and, if you download it (for free), you expose yourself to a software application not yet ready for prime time and shop shelves (bugs are still very possible).
Nevertheless, many will be interested in trying the newest improvements announced:
- A better handling of digital noise. By the way, you can find more about this in “Adobe Lightroom 3 Beta 2: Noise Reduction“
- Overall improvement of the execution speed
- Control mode for tethered operation of Canon and Nikon cameras equipped with this option (see below)
- Importing video files
- A clearly better support for dematricing of Sony Alpha camera sensors. If you read French, you will find more details by reading “Lightroom 3 beta 2 et les Sony Alpha 550, 700 et 900“
- Etc.
